A makerspace, providing a fertile environment for innovation and imagination – and the tools with which students can turn visions into reality – was dedicated in Penn College's Carl Building Technologies Center on Tuesday. The student-designed Dr. Welch Workshop memorializes Dr. Marshall Welch Jr., a local orthodontist and longtime philanthropist, who died in 2012.

Selected from more than 12,000 national and international entries, the Telly Awards represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.

Seventeen Pennsylvania College of Technology students recently returned from the Dominican Republic, where they provided dental care to children at six schools in the Las Terrenas area. The students are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in dental hygiene.

A commencement ceremony was held Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. The award winners, their hometowns and academic majors are: President’s Award, presented for leadership and service to the college: Amanda Ellen Stopper, Williamsport, physical therapist assistant.

Engineering and industrial design students at Pennsylvania College of Technology proved their software acumen by passing prominent industry certification exams during the 2017-18 academic year. Twenty-nine students successfully completed the Certified SolidWorks Associate exam, 12 students passed the Certified SolidWorks Professional test and two students earned Autodesk Inventor certification.
