Jeffrey C. Comitz, a heating, ventilation and air conditioning design technology major from Hughesville, has been chosen as the first Student of the Month of the Fall 2014 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Donald L. Belles Donald L. Belles, a former assistant professor of HVAC technology who also served as interim/temporary dean of construction and design technologies, died Tuesday at age 64. An obituary for Belles, who was employed at Penn College (and its predecessor, Williamsport Area Community College) from August 1984 to July 2001, has been posted to the Sanders Mortuary website.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students claimed four of six $5,000 national scholarships offered by the Oil and Energy Service Professionals. The recipients, all of them enrolled in the college’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology major, are: Evan J. Aigeldinger, of Broomall; Michael J. Boylston, of Carmel, N.Y.; Roger C.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and Harrisburg Area Community College recently entered into articulation agreements allowing graduates of HACC’s graphic design and HVAC programs a smoother transition if they choose to continue their education at Penn College.

Two Pennsylvania College of Technology students were recently awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute.  Michael J. Boylston, of Carmel, N.Y., and Jeffrey C. Comitz, of Hughesville, both enrolled in the four-year heating, ventilation and air conditioning design technology major, are among the 2013-14 recipients of the Clifford H. “Ted” Rees Jr.

The college hosts skills contests in plumbing ... ... commercial baking ... ... precision machining ... ... and even nail care. Penn College was the site for more than 30 skills competitions Friday as faculty joined representatives from business and industry to help facilitate and judge the SkillsUSA District 6 competitions.

Bruce A. Emig, a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member who died in May 2013 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, has been memorialized by a scholarship at the college. Emig’s wife, Cindy, endowed the scholarship in his memory. Emig was an assistant professor of HVAC technology who had been employed at Penn College since 1989.

Schneider Electric has established an endowed scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology as part of the Penn College Scholarship Campaign. Hunter S. Forney, of Shippensburg, is the first recipient of an award from the Schneider Electric Scholarship.
