More and more Penn College employees are adding their support to the Madigan Library Campaign. One of them is Diana L. Kuhns, assistant professor of mathematics. "As a young person, I spent countless hours in libraries, feeding my passion for reading," Kuhns said. "As a student, I was often tucked away in the corner of a library searching for sources and writing countless papers.

Vinay Bahl, associate professor of sociology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has authored a book in which she suggests an alternative perspective on "history from below," as promoted by the Indian school of Subaltern Studies. The book, titled "What Went Wrong With 'History From Below': Reinstating Human Agency As Human Creativity," was published in 2005 by K. P.

All Penn College employees are invited to attend the next informational session about one of the most exciting additions to the Penn College campus: the new Roger and Peggy Madigan Library. The 45-minute session will be held at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Library Instructional Room (LRC, Room151). Light refreshments will be served.

Nationally renowned speaker and pre-eminent legal scholar Donald D. Gehring will present three professional-development sessions on Jan. 25 in the Mountain Laurel Room of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Thompson Professional Development Center.

Frederick G. "Rick" Terry, director of the Factory Built Housing Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently presented to a group of builders, manufacturers and other industry attendees at the 20th Annual National Association of Homebuilders' Building Systems Council Showcase.
