Pennsylvania College of Technology recently appointed a director for the Robert and Maureen Dunham Children’s Learning Center, an early childhood education facility for the children of the college’s students and employees. Barbara J. Albert, who has been employed by Penn College since 1994, began her new duties July 1.

Carol A. Lugg has been named director of the Office of Transfer Initiatives at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Previously, Lugg was coordinator of matriculation and retention in the School of Natural Resources Management at Penn College. She has worked in higher education for more than 15 years, holding positions in student affairs, academic affairs and athletics.

Connections has resumed, providing a variety of activities to help first-year students get acquainted with Penn College and one another. Spread over two days of sessions, each orientation program addresses a range of topics, including finances, classroom expectations, diversity, safety, extracurricular involvement and the reality of leaving home.

College awarded another Telly Award The Telly Awards has named the latest episode of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s career awareness series, “degrees that work.tv,” as a bronze winner in the 34th annual international video competition. Natural gas careers are featured in the episode.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors on Thursday approved emeritus status for Donald O. Praster, who served the college as an administrator and faculty member for more than three decades. Praster retired in June 2012 as dean of industrial and engineering technologies at Penn College. He began his employment with the college 36 years earlier as a welding faculty member.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has announced the 2013 inductees for its Athletics Hall of Fame. The class is the second to be inducted after being established in 2012 by Athletic Director Scott E. Kennell. “We have another great class of inductees,” Kennell said.
