Pennsylvania College of Technology held three commencement ceremonies May 15-16 for more than 900 students who petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2015 semester. The Friday afternoon proceedings at the Community Arts Center honored students from the School of Business & Hospitality and the School of Construction & Design Technologies.

Distinguished Staff Awards and other year-end accolades were presented at an all-campus meeting observing the 20th annual Employee Recognition Week at Pennsylvania College of Technology. In addition to Distinguished Staff Awards, Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour presented awards for Excellence in Academic Advising and Part-Time Teaching Excellence.

President Davie Jane Gilmour closed out the 2014-15 academic year by recognizing the Penn College employees whose galvanizing work ethic will prevail against the formidable opportunities that await on the other side of summer break. "I am confident in our future and in our meeting the challenges that lie ahead," she said. "As you well know, for me, they are opportunities.

Binkley, of South Williamsport, received the Outstanding Early Educator Award from the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children at its 20th annual conference, held recently in Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center on the campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology. The visitation and funeral will be Friday for Marlin M. Roush, a former instructor and dean at Williamsport Area Community College, who died Sunday, May 10, at his Williamsport home. Originally hired as a temporary faculty member in 1962, he retired in 1982 as dean of the Automotive, Aviation and Heavy Equipment Department.
