Approximately 600 students from high schools across the state attended Career Day on Thursday, trying their hands at Penn College’s “degrees that work.” Faculty, staff and several students, giving up time from the Fall Break, provided 34 options for tours, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

The funeral will be Thursday for Solomon M. Francis, an assistant professor of mathematics since August 2003, who died Sunday, Oct. 14, at the age of 55. The service will be at 2 p.m. at Spitler’s, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, preceded by an hour's visitation. A full obituary was published in Tuesday’s editions of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette.
