With commencement barely a month away, Penn College's campus leaders recently brought the curtain down on another impressive year. The annual Student Activities Awards Banquet, held Wednesday in Penn's Inn, shone the spotlight on a number of deserving individuals and organizations, many of whom took home awards for academic achievement, philanthropy, community service and mentorship.

Roger D. Shipley "Pea Island Surf," one of three Shipley pieces displayed at Penn College Roger D. Shipley, a member of the advisory board of The Gallery at Penn College since 2009, was commissioned by Public ARTWORKS to create an outdoor sculpture for the City of Williamsport. Nineteen Penn College students and five employees were added to the list of Awesome Women Exemplars during a recent annual reception, sponsored by the Student Activities Office and held in the Mountain Laurel Room of the Thompson Professional Development Center. The latest group, nominated from the campus community, brings to 294 the number of inspiring inductees since 2006.

All 250 available seats have been sold for the Penn State Coaches Caravan event at Penn College on Tuesday, May 20. The luncheon, set for the Field House on the college's main campus, is one of 17 visits by Nittany Lion head football coach James Franklin and others.
