Employers recruiting from the varied Penn College majors that provide the manufacturing sector with a well-prepared workforce – from welding to plastics to electronics, just for starters – were duly impressed with the caliber of students they encountered at this month's campus Career Fair.

Parents often worry but don't always share with others their concerns about how ready their sons and daughters are to enter college. Highly motivated students may stay focused academically throughout high school, but many distractions can draw teenagers' attention away from academics at a time when it is important for them to prepare for the rigor of college-level classes.

The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer a free session in March to help students, prospective students and families understand how to complete the 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The session will be held from 4:30-7 p.m.

Prospective students seeking hands-on education leading to excellent career opportunities may visit Pennsylvania College of Technology on Saturday, March 24, for Open House. The activity-filled event offers visitors an opportunity to explore diverse academic programs, student life, and campus facilities and services. Open House will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To make campus visits more convenient for potential students and their families, Pennsylvania College of Technology has added organized Saturday tours to its Spring 2012 admissions offerings.

The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer free sessions on the main campus in Williamsport in February and March to help students, prospective students and families understand how to complete the 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted more than 50 teachers, counselors and secondary-school administrators on its campus Dec. 9 for a College and Career Readiness Conference, providing information that can help the educators guide their students.

A campus tour no longer requires an actual trip to the campus. Pennsylvania College of Technology offers prospective students and the general public an opportunity to take a "virtual tour" of campus online. A new online tour, accessible via the Internet, was launched just in time for the winter holidays.
