No one was injured when a powerful storm moved through the area late Thursday afternoon, downing trees on the north side of Penn College's main campus and damaging the roof of the Klump Academic Center.

A commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 4, for the more than 230 students who have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology after the college’s summer sessions. A scholarship to assist students in automotive and collision repair programs at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been established by William and Lorraine Manos. The scholarship was established through the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation, of which William Manos has been a longtime member. Manos has served on the Foundation Board since 1993 and was its chairman from 1997-2007.
The accreditation of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s two- and four-year accounting and business majors has been reaffirmed by the only organization that accredits institutions granting both baccalaureate and associate degrees in the field.
