Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented Student Achievement Awards to its May 2016 graduates. Nearly 1,000 students petitioned to graduate at the conclusion of the spring semester, and three commencement ceremonies were held May 13-14 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State.
With their regular seasons behind them, Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s softball and archery teams now take to the national stage. The softball team will compete Monday through Thursday in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships in Akron, Ohio, and the archers May 20-22 in the U.S.

On May 10, during National Nurses Week, Pennsylvania College of Technology dedicated its Nursing Education Center. The Nursing Education Center occupies the first floor of the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Science Center’s west wing. The facility contains 10 dedicated classrooms and seven learning labs serving more than 350 students enrolled in nursing majors at the college.
Students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diesel equipment majors now have newer equipment on which to hone their craft, thanks to a graduate’s ongoing involvement with his alma mater. The donation of a 2006 Volvo truck was facilitated by Greg A. Moser, an alumnus of Penn College’s former diesel technology: Mack emphasis major.
Sparks of imagination from Pennsylvania College of Technology welding students have produced unique décor for one of the main eateries on campus. A dedicated group of 10 students and one faculty member created original artwork for the college’s Keystone Dining Room.
Openings remain for a 15-day Ready-to-Work Field Service Worker and Roustabout Training program offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The short-term, full-time training – which runs from May 23 to June 14 – prepares participants to work in the following industry sectors: energy, construction, warehousing/logistics and manufacturing.
