Two recent ceremonies celebrated Penn College Workforce Development’s practical nursing graduates.
On Aug. 24, 18 students graduated from the Penn College at Wellsboro program. Kristen Heck, registered nurse with UPMC, was the guest speaker and Nicole A. Fuller, of Mainesburg, spoke on behalf of the graduating class.

Cole, of Galeton; Lathan S. Dunn, of Liberty; Lucas Falenski, of Galeton; Fuller; Alexa Green, of Troy; Vanessa L. Kent, of Mainesburg; Kayla M. Knecht, of Mainesburg; Ashli M. Langworthy, of Roulette; Regan J. Marsh, of Blossburg; Kirsten K. McNeely, of Knoxville; Caylin R. Southard, of Tioga; Hunter N. Toby, of Tioga; and Nova West, of Little Marsh.
On Aug. 28, 11 graduates were the first to complete the practical nursing program at the Williamsport campus. Hannah N. Winder, registered nurse and practical nursing instructor, served as the guest speaker, and Ted P. Ottenheimer, of Laporte, was the student speaker.
Graduates were Nichole A. Berry, of Montoursville; Miranda R. Bower, of Williamsport; Christopher Buck, of Watsontown; Gwendolyn G. Charles, of Jersey Shore; Carla J. Dallo, of Montoursville; Crissy E. Lehman, of Williamsport; Paige A. McGuire, of Lock Haven; Jaylyn M. Mosier, of Muncy; Ottenheimer; Alex R. Travelpiece, of Bloomsburg; and Alyssa M. Wishard, of South Williamsport.

Both ceremonies included the traditional presentation of nursing pins and certificates, academic recognition and a charge to the graduates as they prepare to take the National Council Licensure Exam to begin their careers as practical nurses.
“We are incredibly proud of both cohorts, but it was particularly meaningful to celebrate that first fully Williamsport-based graduating class,” said Chelsea J. Horner, director of practical nursing. “It was a significant milestone as we continue to grow the practical nursing program and expand access to nursing education in the Williamsport area.”
