Pennsylvania College of Technology construction management student Kevin A. Brown, of Portage, was recently awarded a $5,000 recurring scholarship from the Keystone Contractors Association.
The honor was announced during the association’s 2026 Construction Celebration. Applicants must be Pennsylvania residents, receive training/education in Pennsylvania and have aspirations of building in Pennsylvania.

Brown, a dean’s list student and Eagle Scout, is one of three KCA scholarship recipients for 2026. He looks forward to becoming the first in his family to earn a bachelor’s degree and ultimately contributing to the construction industry by leading teams and upholding high standards of quality, safety and integrity.
Brown will continue receiving the scholarship each year until graduation if he maintains the eligibility requirements (residing, studying and planning to work in Pennsylvania) and a GPA above 3.0.
The KCA Scholarship Program was established to provide financial support to Pennsylvania students pursuing their education and preparing for careers that will contribute to the commonwealth’s future. Since its inception in 2022, KCA has awarded more than $100,000 in college scholarships to 11 recipients. Four of them have been Penn College students.
“These scholarships are an investment in people,” said James Darr, KCA Education Committee chairman. “When we support students like Kevin (and co-recipients) Keeley (Nunn) and Lindsay (Baer), we’re helping build not just the next generation of construction professionals, but the future of Pennsylvania.”
The Keystone Contractors Association is a leading voice for Pennsylvania’s construction industry. KCA represents contractors and industry partners throughout the commonwealth and works to strengthen the construction industry through advocacy, workforce development, education, safety and professional development.
