CPRS offers tuition reimbursement to Penn College students

Pennsylvania College of Technology has entered into an agreement with CPRS Physical Therapy that will allow physical therapist assistant students to offset a portion of their tuition while potentially securing full-time employment.

Upon graduation from the PTA program, students who sign an 18-month employment commitment with CPRS will receive $5,250 in tuition reimbursement, provided they meet and fulfill the requirements of the agreement. Each sponsorship may be renewed up to three times, with tuition reimbursement available upon each renewal.

Students must be enrolled full time in and graduate from the PTA program, pass the licensure examination within six months of graduation and demonstrate financial need. During their time at Penn College, they must maintain at least a 3.0 grade-point average per semester.

“This collaboration ensures that the eligible student completes one clinical education experience with CPRS, which allows on-the-job experience, mentorship and training even before employment begins,” said Victoria Hurwitz, director of the physical therapist assistant program. “It’s almost like a seven-week interview and orientation, which helps make the transition to employment smoother.”

CPRS has 40 clinics throughout the state. Matt Morgan, vice president of PT Operations North, CPRS Physical Therapy/Family Practice Center in Mifflintown, said the agreement with Penn College potentially applies to any of the locations, based on where future employees plan to reside and the company’s staffing needs.

CPRS, he added, is fortunate to have had the opportunity to hire many Penn College graduates over the years who are “always extremely well-prepared clinically, ready to provide outstanding patient care and eager to learn and grow professionally.”
