Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Community Arts Center is the recipient of a $3,000 donation from Truist Financial Corp. through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The funding will support the venue's approved educational programs.
“Our purpose at Truist is to inspire and build better lives and communities,” said Dan Belk, senior vice president, central Pennsylvania market president for Truist. “We’re proud to partner with the Community Arts Center and hope this support helps inspire a new generation of students and performers.”
The historic 2,100-seat venue has been designated as an educational improvement organization under the EITC program through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for providing quality, innovative educational programs. EITC-approved businesses can take their Pennsylvania tax dollars and invest them in support of the educational programs offered to local students and then claim 75% of that donation as a credit to offset their state tax bill. The credit can increase to 90% if the commitment to donate funds is made for two consecutive years.
“These partnerships help to secure the Art Center’s long-term sustainability and allow us to carry out our mission to enhance the quality of life for the community and for the youth in our region,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, director of development and community relations.
Funding for the Community Arts Center's educational programs is derived from various sources, including EITC funds, individual donations, corporate sponsorships and grants. For more information about giving opportunities, contact Gonzalez-White by email or at 570-327-7657.
