Students listen attentively as they interact with potential employers during Career Services' Physical Therapist Assistant Recruitment Day. Career Services provided 13 Recruitment Days during the spring semester to help employers and students network. Their registration fees support the college's Internship Support Fund.

Nearly 150 employers attended Career Services’ Recruitment Days this spring to interact with Penn College’s tomorrow makers and fill vital roles in their organizations.

From Jan. 26 to April 14, Career Services hosted 13 Recruitment Days, each tailored to a specific cluster of majors and scheduled in collaboration with faculty to select dates that most effectively serve students and strengthen opportunities for student-employer engagement.

The events were attended by 508 students. Forty-eight alumni returned to campus representing their employers.

Not only do employers support students by coming to Recruitment Days to talk about careers, part-time jobs, full-time jobs and internships, but their registration fees support the college’s Internship Support Fund and career development initiatives, which help students overcome financial barriers – like rent, travel costs or specialized tools – that are sometimes associated with pursuing an internship.

“This funding directly benefits numerous students each year, expanding access to learning opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach,” explained Stacey L. Girven, career events manager.

Girven said some employers needed to cancel their Recruitment Day participation, but they continued their donation to the Internship Support Fund.

“This generosity reflects the meaningful connections between our constituents and our college,” she said.

Girven said planning is underway for Fall 2026, with eight Recruitment Days and other events already scheduled.

Career Services also hosts fall and spring Career Fairs, schedules employer pop-up information tables throughout the academic year, and provides a variety of career-preparation services to students and alumni.
