Thursday, March 26, 2026

Editor's note: Penn College issued the following statement to area media outlets on March 26:

Pennsylvania College of Technology received notice of reported concerns last week involving the college’s baseball team. The college takes these matters seriously and canceled practices and postponed games while conducting a thorough investigation.

This week, Penn College concluded its investigation into the reported concerns involving the baseball team. As a result, changes were made to the baseball coaching staff and team roster.

The college subsequently met with all remaining eligible student-athletes to assess whether the institution would have enough players to safely field a team. After careful consideration and a review of all available options in this complex situation, the college has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2026 baseball season.

The college remains committed to supporting its student-athletes and moving the baseball program forward. Eligible baseball team members will have access to campus resources to maintain fitness, build as a team and continue developing skills. The college intends to open a national search this spring for its next baseball coach, enabling the institution to recruit strong talent and restore its program.

The college is aware of speculation and unofficial information circulating regarding this matter. To ensure accuracy, the college encourages the community to rely on information shared through official college communications. To protect individual privacy and the integrity of the review process, the college will not provide additional comment at this time. Additional information will be shared as appropriate.
