Approximately 30 children attended Breakfast with Santa, a holiday benefit held in Penn’s Inn on Dec. 13.
Families were invited to don their best Christmas sweaters and gather for a festive breakfast in support of a meaningful cause.
In addition to pancakes and hot cocoa, youngsters also enjoyed photos with Santa, a cookie sale, and holiday crafts and activities.
The event was organized by the Student Nurses’ Association, which is committed to representing the majority of the nursing student body. Group activities include community service projects and fundraisers. More than $500 was raised for a Penn College nursing student whose husband is battling cancer.
“We want to thank everyone who assisted with this benefit,” said Samantha T. Linn, of Muncy, president of the Student Nurses’ Association. “We want to share how important it is to be an advocate for yourself. If you are feeling off and doctors aren’t finding anything, we just want to make sure that you are advocating for yourself to get all the tests done, and make sure nothing is missed.”
