Thursday, December 11, 2025

Students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s heating, ventilation & air conditioning majors have access to a variety of specialized tools donated recently by Peirce-Phelps, a distributor of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and building automation and energy management systems, and JB Industries, a manufacturer of HVAC tools.

The donations, valued over $18,000, were arranged by Sean Bauer, product manager-HVAC Group for Peirce-Phelps and a member of the college’s HVAC Technology Advisory Committee.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students Isaiah I. Sepulveda (left), of Lebanon, and Luke J. Marotta, of Collegeville, both pursuing degrees in heating, ventilation & air conditioning technology, unbox a donation of HVAC equipment and tools from Peirce-Phelps and JB Industries during a commercial refrigeration class.

Among the equipment are three rebuilt JB Industries DV-200N Platinum vacuum pumps and 17 JB Industries Mini Split tool kits, facilitated by Oscar Lopez, vice president of sales for JB Industries, valued at $16,352.

Additionally, Peirce-Phelps donated a Tradepro A2L battery-powered vacuum pump, a Tradepro TP-ACA power adapter and a Tradepro TPRM1 refrigerant recovery machine, valued at $1,712.

“Sean and Peirce-Phelps have been invaluable to our program, assisting us in creating an affordable, high-quality student tool kit and welcoming our students to their annual trade show at no cost,” said Stephen D. Manbeck, assistant professor of HVAC technology. “Their donation allows our students to train with the most up-to-date tools and equipment for servicing and installing air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The HVAC program is truly grateful for their ongoing support and generosity.”
