'WildCast' features conference golf coach of the year

Head golf coach Rob Lytle is the guest on the 12th episode  of "WildCast," a podcast produced by Penn College Athletics. 

Lytle, a former volunteer assistant coach for the college’s golf team, finished his third season at the helm this spring. In 2024-25, the team captured its third straight United East Conference Championship, with seniors Peyton Mussina and Will Orwig tying for third individually. Lytle was named the United East Coach of the Year for the third season in a row.

In his interview with “WildCast” host Matt Blymier, assistant director of athletics for compliance and athletic communication, Lytle shares his unconventional journey into coaching golf. He discusses his early experiences as a player, the transition to coaching and the strategies he implemented to build a competitive golf program.

Lytle emphasizes the importance of player development, recruitment, and creating a supportive environment for athletes. He also shares memorable moments from his coaching career, highlighting challenges and successes along the way.
