During a second ceremony, at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts, graduates of the 21.5-month part-time program – the first part-time cohort in six years – were honored. The students selected Dianne M. Woodburn, practical nursing instructor, as guest speaker for the ceremony.
Student speaker was Diehl. Academic Awards were presented to Evans and Kerstetter.
Since 1983, Penn College’s Wellsboro campus has graduated 552 practical nursing students, boosting the health care workforce in the Northern Tier.
Graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses, and due to high demand, may be employed in health care facilities throughout the region. The program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
