Continuing its support of Pennsylvania College of Technology, WM, formerly known as Waste Management, has donated $10,000 to back the institution’s dual enrollment program.
Penn College Dual Enrollment enables academically qualified high school and career and technology education center students to take college-credit courses tuition-free during their regular school day.
WM made its financial commitment through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
“With this generous donation, WM is investing in tomorrow’s workforce. The company champions Penn College Dual Enrollment and the wonderful opportunities the program provides to high school students,” said Elizabeth A. Biddle, senior director of grant management at Penn College. “We are most grateful for their ongoing support.”
WM, formerly known as Waste Management, has donated $10,000 through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to benefit the dual enrollment program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Penn College Dual Enrollment works with nearly 70 partners across Pennsylvania, allowing over 2,000 students to earn more than 7,000 Penn College credits. Many of the courses are technical in nature, providing a career pipeline for skilled technicians and technologists needed by business and industry throughout Pennsylvania.
“WM is committed to serving our community, and EITC is a meaningful way to invest in education,” said Erika Deyarmin, public affairs manager. “Penn College Dual Enrollment affords our future workforce the opportunity to experience college while in high school, providing credits toward graduation, especially in technical areas that can help serve the WM workforce needs.”

The Penn College Foundation is approved as an Educational Improvement Organization under the EITC program administered by the state Department of Community & Economic Development.
