WBRE’s “Eyewitness News” team visited Penn College’s culinary arts labs early Wednesday to broadcast live as students prepared for this evening’s Napa Valley dinner in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. The restaurant, open to the public, is a live-learning lab for students. Additional pieces recorded in the kitchens are set to air on today’s 11 a.m., noon and 5:30 p.m. newscasts.
In its online report, the station states: "There's no such thing as too many cooks in the kitchen at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant in Williamsport."
Six students, all in the American Regional Cuisines class taught by Chef Amanda L. Farr-Lepper, assistant professor of culinary arts, took part in the taping: Ryan J. Baranoski, of Mount Carmel; RJ Cameron Jr., of Sunbury; Zachary T. Davies, of Weatherly; Aniya S. Green, of Harrisburg; Alicia M. Kaster, of Titusville; and Nicholas P. Matz, of Schuylkill Haven.
Each student in the class will manage one of the meals as a sous chef. The American Regional dinners will be served Wednesdays through April 24. Make a reservation at 570-320-2433.
