An ongoing partnership between Pennsylvania College of Technology and Miller Electric Mfg. LLC helps to ensure that students in the college’s welding and fabrication majors can continue to hone their skills on state-of-the-art equipment used throughout the welding industry.
Miller, a Wisconsin-based manufacturer of original equipment for the industry that is wholly owned by ITW (Illinois Tool Works), has entered into a new entrustment agreement with updated equipment. The agreement allows welding students and faculty to benefit from hands-on instructional experience with the latest equipment, while providing previously entrusted equipment at a significant cost reduction – a total partnership value of nearly $900,000.

The company has supported the college for nearly a decade. That backing is reflected in its inclusion in the Millionaire’s Society category on the college’s Donor Wall and its participation as a Corporate Tomorrow Maker.

This is one of the many ways that Miller invests in education and the welding industry.”

Penn College offers a bachelor’s degree in welding & fabrication engineering technology; associate degrees in welding technology, metal fabrication technology, and non-destructive testing; a certificate in welding; and competency credentials in radiographic inspection for non-destructive testing and ultrasonic inspection for non-destructive testing. Penn College’s 55,000-square-foot welding lab, believed to be the largest such facility in higher education nationwide, serves students in one of the college’s most popular program areas, enrolling more than 350 students.
