Penn College’s physician assistant program concluded its celebration of PA Week on Tuesday. PA Week is a nationwide celebration, promoted by the American Academy of PAs (the national professional society for PAs) and the Physician Assistant Education Association.
“Each year, from Oct. 6-12, our organizations join the nation in celebrating PAs and their valuable contributions to health care teams,” the AAPA noted in a letter to all physician assistants. “This year, we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate the remarkable care that each of you (over 150,000!) provide to approximately 9.9 million patients per week.”
On campus, Tina R. Strayer, coordinator of physician assistant studies, posted information about the program’s students, faculty and alumni throughout the week, and PA Club members took part in a "(community) Service Saturday" event at the college’s Earth Science Center campus.
The physician assistant program is led by certified PAs Joshua A. Bower, program director; Dr. Kendra F. Boell, Heather S. Dorman and Cheressa L. Mix, instructors; and Nancy J. Eisenhauer, clinical director.
The on-campus celebration ended Tuesday with cake and snacks.
