SIFE Recommits to Area's Hungry With Second Annual Food Drive

At a Thursday gathering in City Hall, Williamsport Mayor Gabriel J. Campana endorsed a food drive undertaken by Penn College's Students in Free Enterprise in conjunction with Campbell's Soup. This is the second year for SIFE's participation in the "Let's Can Hunger" effort, in which collection boxes have been distributed across campus and in the community to collect nonperishable food through March 26. Joining the mayor were student members of SIFE, including Kaitlyn M. Kennedy, chapter president); Dennis R. Williams, associate professor of business administration/management, the club's adviser; and representatives of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. SIFE, which received Student Organization of the Year and Adviser of the Year honors during the 2008-09 academic year, collected more than 5,000 pounds of food duringits inaugural drive.
