Norman retired from IBM Endicott in New York, where he was hired after graduation. After eight years as a computer/maintenance technician, he was promoted to maintenance department manager. Over the next 24 years, he held several management positions, and retired with the title functional manager of all equipment maintenance for the Endicott plant, supervising five project managers, 24 first-line managers and 400 technicians. He has been retired for 30 years living in Melbourne, Fla., with his wife of 59 years.
