"As a graduate of Penn College and with over 10 years of experience in my career, Penn College never disappoints when I visit town. Regardless of its career fairs, educational session talking with students, or sitting on the board of the Construction Management Executive Committee, Penn College is always top notch. The faculty at Penn College prepare their students like no other college around and it’s a no brainer when it comes to recruiting students from Penn College."

Q&A with Worth & Company, Inc.
WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?
The construction industry is exciting because it is an integral part to the infrastructure of America. The work that we do helps keep businesses running, and most people do not realize it or think about how someone needed to build the bathrooms, the medical rooms, etc., of these buildings that we use every day.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?
Our company culture is steeped in family values and caring for each and every employee. Worth & Company is an Employee-Owned company which further showcases the commitment and care our founder, Stephen Worth, as for the employees here.
Our vision statement specifically highlights the opportunities for growth and advancement within the company, which you can see through any person you speak with here. We have mechanics running HR, laborers growing into VPs, and so many more success stories.
HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?
Our company has a long-standing connection with Penn College, as well as many alumni who work at Worth. Specifically, Ryan Cawley, a senior project manager here at Worth & Company, is an alum and also serves on the Construction Management Advisory Committee at Penn College, which has helped solidify our connection with the college and its students.
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?
Penn College is a great investment for our company! Many of our interns are from Penn College and they have turned into full-time employees upon graduation, dramatically helping our recruitment process by training future hires as interns.
WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?
The best quality anyone can have, and one that is hard to teach, is ambition and work ethic. When hiring interns or college graduates, while degree and studies plays a factor in the process, a person's character and willingness to learn shines brighter than what grades they received in class. While someone can learn a technical skill, their drive is not so easily taught, so we look for those great candidates.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?
Find what you are passionate about and pursue that! Choose a career that you want to get up in the morning for, and that all starts with choosing the right major and school.
