The Tri-M Group provides electrical construction, building automation, high voltage, security, and networking solutions. Working with the latest technology, they design, engineer, automate, install, secure, analyze, test, and maintain the critical infrastructure companies need.
Two things really excite me about this industry. First, the career opportunities that are available in the construction industry are limitless. This industry is one of the fastest growing with a tremendous amount of opportunities for learning, career advancement, and earning potential.
The second thing that excites me is the diversification in the industry. Construction technology is always advancing and changing. You get to see and learn something new every day.
I appreciate Tri-M’s commitment to safety. Tri-M spends over 1 million dollars annually on safety and training. We lead with safety. I appreciate Tri-M’s proactive commitment to keeping our employee-owners safe, so that at the end of the day, everyone goes home safe.
I also appreciate Tri-M’s culture and its philosophy of placing the employees first. I fondly remember Tri-M’s founder, Tom Musser, saying “If you take care of your employees, your employees will take care of the customers, and then the profits will come.”
Rich Musser, our manpower superintendent in Lock Haven, attended Penn College. Actually, Rich attended when it was called Williamsport Area Community College. Rich is still connected to Penn College by serving on the advisory board and has taught classes on fiber optic technology.
The level of talent we have received has been awesome. We have several employee-owners on our team that attended Penn College and their field of knowledge in building automation and electrical construction is impressive. Penn College’s labs are also second to none.
We value technical abilities and an understanding of the electrical field when recruiting. We also value a good work attitude and work ethic, and someone who has an interest in learning.
My advice is that attending Penn College (or any other college) is a large investment, so make sure this is the right career path for you. If you are considering entering the construction trades, perhaps try an internship or summer job in the field to get a good idea of what this career would look like. The payoff from attending Penn College can be phenomenal, but you have to put the work in.
"Tri-M values its partnership with Penn College and we know there will be many opportunities for a student to excel in life and be part of two great teams."
