The Forest Lake Club is a private membership club for the outdoor enthusiast. Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania it is only 100 miles from midtown Manhattan and 150 miles from central Philadelphia. The club has been in existence since 1882 and is steeped in the tradition of land conservation and preservation.

The property consists of 4,700 acres of forested land with three pristine glacial lakes for fishing and boating, 2 miles of stocked trout stream for fly fishing, and a 300-acre preserve for upland bird shooting. Members and guests fish for bass and trout in the lakes and hunt wild turkey, black bear, and whitetail deer in the woodlands.

WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?

Having been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years, the day-to-day, ever-changing atmosphere is what excites me, along with the opportunity to teach and mentor the next generation of hospitality workers.

WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?

I enjoy how they value their team members. The mission is stewardship of the land and natural resources, which is something that I appreciate.

HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?

Forest Lake Club attended a job fair back in March.

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?

With it being close to our facility, it gives us an opportunity to have interns who are local and who can lead to full-time employment.

WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

I would say that attending Penn College, you get a great hands-on education, which will help you when you graduate and move into the workforce. I had the same opportunity when going to college.
