Industry Partnerships: Q&A with Bihler of America

WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?

There is so much potential for the future in providing manufacturing solutions for our customers. We strive to make them more efficient and competitive for their customers by providing value added processes.

WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?

At Bihler you are part of a team that has phenomenal support with many experienced individuals in all areas of manufacturing like system design, tool building, programming, tooling development, and production execution. There is always support within the company. We can also utilize the wealth of knowledge and experience from Bihler Germany, who we work very closely with on many occasions. We believe you are in control of your destiny. If you have the right approach to work, a positive attitude, and the drive and desire to learn all you can, there is no limit to what you can achieve.

HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?

We first visited Penn College in 2018 when we participated in Career Fair.

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?

We believe so strongly in Penn College, its mission, students, and faculty that we have provided a Bihler Machine(4SNC) for the college to use.

We are excited to be part of a collaboration between Penn College and our design and tooling groups who work closely with the instructors and students. This will lead to many opportunities by exposing the students to advanced manufacturing principles, which they can use wherever they choose to have a career in manufacturing.

We have hired three very talented young persons who we believe will be a big part of our future in years to come.

WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?

We have been impressed with the level of engagement among Penn College students and their knowledge. What is especially important to us is their hands-on talent and skills, which are not common for most engineering programs at traditional colleges and universities.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

Penn College is a great choice to start gaining/learning skills for an excellent career in many fields, especially manufacturing.

Immerse yourself in the programs at Penn College and you will have a guarantee of an excellent career; I have no doubt.
