Bergey’s Truck Centers is family owned and operated out of its headquarters in Souderton, Pennsylvania, and has been in business since 1924. Bergey’s Truck Center’s has a commercial truck footprint to include 16 truck centers, eight truck parts locations, and a parts warehouse. It is a certified dealership for Mack, Volvo, Hino, Isuzu, and Autocar commercial trucks as well as Wabash and Strick trailers. Bergey’s also operates six commercial tire centers and ten automotive dealership locations, extending their commercial offerings to include automotive and light duty pick-up trucks and vans.

WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?
Transportation and more specifically the commercial truck market is an ever-evolving industry. There are always new opportunities with technology advancements from our OEM partners. While it's a broad industry, at the same time it is very connected, which provides ample opportunity for networking and growth. You have so many different avenues to follow in your career.
WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?
At Bergey's Truck Centers, our primary mission is to serve the customer. The words "Driven To Serve" are not just a phrase or a tagline. It's a mentality, and our biggest priority at the end of the day. Many times, serving the customer means interacting with many different teams. This keeps everyone driven to help out. The family atmosphere is second to none. There's a reason we've been around for over 100 years.
HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?
Bergey's has been a partner with Penn College for many years, and we are very engaged with supporting the diesel tech program. I personally get a lot out of watching the next generation of technicians get excited for their careers.
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?
We have a mutual benefit in that we can support training initatives, providing trucks, equipment, parts and software to expand the students' exposure. This exposure means those students graduating from the program that have joined our team have been extremenly sucessful in thier careers with Bergey's. We are pleased to be able to grow our investment in the program with our recent donation of a 2018 Mack CXU which provides further hands-on training experience.
WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?
We have found that students coming out of the Penn College Diesel Tech program do so with both professionalism and technical knowledge. They have an eagerness to get involved and have a 'get the job done' mentality that we value here at Bergey's.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?
If you are considering a career in the diesel industry, you can't go wrong in choosing Penn College. The school has many strong industry partners who, like Bergey's, have a vested interest in recruiting successful students. These relationships help students to easily transition from school student to valued employees right in the industry they were training for.
