Students explore Davey Tree Expert Co.’s new SEED campus

Pennsylvania College of Technology landscape/plant production technology students, along with Carl J. Bower Jr., assistant professor of horticulture, and Wyatt C. Forest, horticulture laboratory assistant, recently traveled to Kent, Ohio, to participate in Davey Tree Expert Co.’s two-day Davey Tree Collegiate Day. Penn College, along with 10 other colleges, visited the company’s Science, Employee, Education and Development campus.

Alumni horticulturalists host students at renowned gardens

On Oct. 8, 19 Pennsylvania College of Technology landscape/plant production technology students took a trip to Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, where they met with several graduates and toured the facility.

Penn College student earns $5,000 TREE Fund scholarship

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student has been awarded a scholarship from the Tree Research & Education Endowment Fund, a charitable grant-making organization that supports urban and community forests. Trinity E. Willoughby, of Danville, earned the $5,000 Fran Ward Women in Arboriculture Scholarship.
