Why should my organization connect with our local CTC? 

Many employers have recognized that partnering with local career and technical schools is a smart, proactive approach to building and sustaining a skilled workforce. Chances are, you already have some connection with your local school. Through our CTC initiative, Workforce Development aims to strengthen these partnerships to create a talent pipeline for the PA Weatherization industry. Our goal is simple: to help you find and recruit the skilled talent you need for long-term success.

What do I need to do?

Engage with your local CTC.

  • Stay connected and collaborate closely.
  • Join regular planning meetings: Attend virtual sessions to discuss project implementation and progress. 
  • Participate in advisory meetings: Be an active part of the schools Occupational Advisory Committee. 
  • Introduce students to weatherization: Whether through your staff or coordinating contractors, provide in-class presentations or demonstrations to engage students.

Offer work-based learning opportunities.

  • Host facility tours for classes 
  • Provide individual student job shadowing experiences 
  • Hire students through cooperative education programs 

Give feedback.

Help us and the teachers improve by sharing what’s working and where adjustments are needed.

Commit to reporting.

Participate in program reporting and surveys to ensure success.
