Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Intro-MECH)

Intro-MECH is a one-year, entry-level training curriculum of core mechatronics topics for employees hired or transitioning into positions in industrial maintenance. 

It is also appropriate for current technicians needing to expand their technical knowledge base.

Program Overview

Intro-MECH is aligned to eight different NIMS Industrial Technology Maintenance (ITM) credentials and prepares individuals for careers as maintenance technicians. This training covers four core mechatronics competencies: 

  • Mechanical Systems, 
  • Fluid Power – Hydraulics/Pneumatics, 
  • Electrical Systems, and 
  • Electrical Controls (PLCs & VFDs).

NIMS ITM Level 1 Certification

Upon completion of the program, participants receive their journey worker papers from the US Department of Labor or the PA Department of Labor & Industry.

Prepares participants for the NIMS Industrial Technology Maintenance (ITM) Level 1 Certification.
