Transportation Scholars Program

Pursuing an associate degree in Aviation Maintenance, Automotive, Collision Repair, or Diesel Technology at Penn College? You may be eligible for the Transportation Scholars Program and a scholarship of up to $10,000 per year, renewable for up to two years.

To be considered for the Transportation Scholars Program, applicants must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, be eligible for Pell Grant aid, and have demonstrated unmet financial need. 

The selection of scholars will be based on academic merit, financial need, and the potential to excel in one of the targeted programs.

Incoming students who wish to be considered for the Transportation Scholars Program must submit: 

• The Penn College Application
• The Penn College Scholarship Application
• The Transportation Scholars Program application by June 12, 2026
• A completed FAFSA
• High school transcripts
• An essay detailing why you should be selected for this program
• A letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator, or supervisor

In order to maintain the scholarship award from the first to the second year, Transportation Scholars must: 

• Continue to demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA
• Maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA
• Maintain reasonable participation (75%+ attendance) in Transportation Scholar Program cohort activities
• Fill out the The Penn College Scholarship Application by March 1 of each year 

Transportation Scholars will receive: 

• A faculty mentor
• Tutoring services
• Three-day preorientation bridge program
• First-year experience course with other Transportation Scholars
• Career seminars including field trips to area businesses
