The Dr. Welch Workshop: A Makerspace at Penn College

Summer Hours

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, family, and the public can all take advantage of the Makerspace throughout the College's summer session:

Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays | noon–8 p.m.

The Makerspace will be closed due to construction on Friday & Saturday, June 20 & 21,
and for campus holiday on Thursday & Friday, July 3 & 4.

Paid members are encouraged to bring their own materials.
$5.00 materials fee per day per piece of equipment if members wish to use Makerspace materials.
Wood and metal must be provided by members, due to extreme variability in cost of these materials.

Payments will be made via credit card through our online store. The Makerspace cannot accept cash or checks.
Membership fees will assist the Makerspace in keeping equipment offerings useful and cutting-edge.

Users will be required to sign a liability waiver the first time they visit the space.
Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and will not be able to use equipment on the workshop-side of the Makerspace.
For safety reasons, children under 4 are not allowed in the Makerspace
Certification is required before using equipment in the woodshop, machining, and welding rooms.
Training and assistance in the use of equipment and software is always available to all users of the Makerspace. However, over the summer the Makerspace will not be able to offer training in either welding or metal machining.
All current Makerspace policies continue to apply, including policies regarding acceptable use of the space.
