Jessica Oberlin

Jessica is Madigan Library’s Information Technology Initiatives Librarian since spring 2016 and is the liaison for the School of Engineering Technologies: Construction & Architectural Technologies and Materials Science & Engineering & Technologies divisions. She also supports and develops emerging information technologies into the library’s integrated library system and online resources.

Before coming to Pennsylvania College of Technology, she was an Instructional Librarian, Coordinator of Access Services at Lycoming College of Williamsport, PA. There, she provided instruction as well as supervised Snowden Library’s interlibrary loan and circulation departments. Previous to Lycoming, she was a librarian at Warrior Run High School in Turbotville, PA, and started her career as a Communications (English) teacher at Mifflinburg Area High School, Mifflinburg, PA. Jessica has a Master’s of Science: Library Science (MSLS) degree from Clarion University and an Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Lycoming College. .

Jessica is the author and co-author of several journal articles, book chapters, as well as a book published in 2021 by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) entitled, “Technical Services in the 21st Century,” with a chapter on data of e-resources here at Penn College. She usually spends free time with her family: a husband and two children. If she happens get a rare moment for herself, you’ll find her reading, gardening, crafting, kayaking, hiking, or anything exciting outdoors.
