Newly enrolled students with completed course work from a vocational-technical school are encouraged to contact the Engineering Technologies School Office to have competency assessment forms sent to them to have their instructor complete. If the instructor's assessment indicates that the student has acquired the necessary foundational skills with an outstanding rating, the student may qualify for advanced credit.
Typical MTT courses for which students may receive advanced credit:
- MTT 128 Mill Applications
- MTT 129 Lathe Applications
In some cases, the student may be given the opportunity to take a placement exam to determine their eligibility for advanced credit. Entering students are not assessed a fee for taking the placement exams.
