Paramedic Certificate

Penn College is committed to continuing our tradition of training exceptional Paramedics, which began with the original Williamsport Hospital Program. As we continue to assess the needs of our industry partners, the financial burdens placed on students, and the needs of our communities; we have realized it is time to make a change.

The Paramedic Program at Penn College will transition to a 1-year certificate program offered through Workforce Development. This will reduce the length of time to complete the program and better align with the needs of our industry partners and the communities they serve.

The Workforce Development Paramedic Program will begin enrolling students for the first cohort in January 2025, with expected graduation in December 2025. As with the current program, students who are not yet Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) will need to obtain their certification before entry. EMT certification may be obtained through Workforce Development in the Spring or Fall semesters or at other locations offering the course.
