Engineering
Summer Camp
Engineering is a broad field that can refer to everything from building bridges and designing skateboards to manufacturing high-tech equipment and building robots. Learn the various ways engineers, and engineering, affect daily life. Explore engineering concepts and careers such as robotics and electronics, civil engineering, industrial and parametric design, plastics and polymer engineering, information technology, machining, and welding. All hands-on workshops take place in our state-of-the-art labs and classrooms.
Overnight Summer Camp
June 18-21, 2023
Age Group: Students entering grades 10-12
Fee: $375
Includes all activities, meals, and on-campus housing.
Registration for this program is full.

Please Bring
Long pants and closed-toes shoes are required.
Engineering Workshops
Engineering Design
Learn how products are designed, created, simulated, and ultimately manufactured. Using our advanced labs, participants will become familiar with the engineering “tools of the trades.”
Electronics
Delve into how your many handheld devices work. In addition to learning about circuitry and logic, participants will also investigate robotics, sensors, and other testing and measuring applications.
Manufacturing Engineering Technology
Take a look at the basic concepts of industrial robots, Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machinery, and Mastercam Cadcam software. See hands-on demonstrations of product design, selecting cutting tools, creating toolpaths, and the CNC program used to produce the part on the CNC machine. Activities also include programming and operating industrial robots and fluid power systems.
Plastics & Polymer Engineering Technology
Do you know how plastics and polymers differ from more traditional engineering materials? Learn this and more! Using industry equipment, participants will take raw plastic pellets and turn them into finished products while learning how to tackle common manufacturing problems along the way.
Welding Engineering Technology
Get hands on with welding basics. Learn how to work with various metals using differing processes. Experiment with the creative side of welding as you transform metal into artistic pieces through heat coloring.
Scholarships
Earn up to $2,000 off Penn College tuition
Did you know you can save money on your Penn College tuition if you attend one of our Summer Camps?
Here's how it works:
- Complete a Summer Camp during the summer before entering 9-12 grade.
- Or better yet, come for two Summer Camps. Pick a different program the second time around or come for the same one twice. Each year we mix things up.
- Attend Penn College and receive $1,000 off your tuition each year if you came for one program.
- Or, get $2,000 off your tuition each year if you join us for two programs.
