Pennsylvania College of Technology presented Clifford H. “Pep” Martin Jr., of Dade City, Florida, with the Distinguished Alumni Award at its Spring Commencement ceremonies, held May 16-17 at the Community Arts Center. A Williamsport native, Martin is a 1972 automotive technology graduate of Williamsport Area Community College, Penn College’s immediate predecessor institution.

An occasion to reminisce and renew, a special reunion welcomed alumni of Williamsport Technical Institute and Williamsport Area Community College back to campus. The predecessor institutions of Pennsylvania College of Technology laid the groundwork for today’s educational achievements and are an important part of the college’s legendary legacy. The gathering also celebrated the 60th anniversary of the founding of WACC, one of the state’s first community colleges, in 1965.

Alumnus Jeffrey L. Erdly, a longtime benefactor of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a distinguished career in the construction industry, was recently presented with an award by ASTM International, recognizing an ASTM member who has made significant professional contributions to the field of building technology and/or to multidisciplinary technical problem-solving in the construction industry.
