A 5K Glow Walk/Run is set for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, on Penn College's campus. Organized by Alpha Chi National Honor Society, the event will start and end at the college’s Field House. On-site and virtual participants are welcome. Registrations are accepted through Nov. 12. The fee is $10 and will support academic excellence by offsetting new inductee fees for the honor society’s national chapter.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Diesel Performance Club has captured another first place in drag race competition. The club's 1959 B-61 Mack drag truck, known as “Accelerated Learning,” won top honors in the “Big Rig Auto” bracket at the October Truck Fest at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey. That victory qualified the truck for the “King of the Island” bracket race, where it finished in second place.
Penn College alumna Judi L. Jessick returned to her alma mater recently to read her book, "Agatha Livermore and the Magic Cookie Spoon," to youngsters at the Dunham Children's Learning Center. A resident of Shamokin Dam, Jessick is a 2002 graduate of the occupational therapy assistant major.
A former computer engineer turned motivational speaker will share his dynamic insights on “Bridging the Digital Divide: Unlocking Access and Opportunity in Education” during a Nov. 6 presentation of the Technology & Society Colloquia Series at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Lasada “LP” Pippen will headline the Wednesday discussion, set for 6 to 7 p.m. in the Presentation Room of the Davie Jane Gilmour Center. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

A physical therapy clinic – staffed by students supervised by licensed professionals, and offering free services to volunteer community participants in need – is planned for Fall 2025 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The clinic is being funded by Penn College President Emeritus Davie Jane Gilmour, whose gift will be used to purchase much of the needed equipment, upgrade the space (the former Occupational Therapy Assistant Lab), and support the first two years of operations at the facility.
Grant M. Berry Jr., who retired from Pennsylvania College of Technology as dean of grants and contracts in 2001, died Oct. 6 at the age of 81. During his 32 years of service, Berry played a significant role in securing federal, state and local funding to support a multitude of college projects.

The U.S. Department of Education awarded a $96,099 grant to Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Dunham Children’s Learning Center to help reduce fees for eligible students whose children are enrolled at the early childhood education facility in 2024-25. The CCAMPIS grant (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) helps the Children’s Learning Center to provide reduced fees to Penn College students whose income makes them eligible for Federal Pell Grants.
