Renata Engel, vice president for Commonwealth Campuses and executive chancellor at Penn State, joined the Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors. Engel was appointed to the Penn College Board by the Corporation for Penn State.
Pennsylvania College of Technology welcomed Shannon Massey, senior vice president of Lycoming Engines, to its Board of Directors. Massey was appointed to the Penn College Board by the Corporation for Penn State. She attended her first board meeting on Oct. 9.
As part of a national initiative celebrating Campus Children’s Centers Week, Oct. 6-10, Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Dunham Children’s Learning Center had lots of fun activities in store for the youngsters, from dress-up days and outdoor adventures to guest readers, nutrition-based activities and special visits to share a bit of gratitude.
Girl Scout Daisy Troop 60238, a new troop in the Williamsport area, recently helped to fill one of The Cupboard’s satellite sites. The Cupboard, which has a main facility in the Bush Campus Center, is a food pantry for Penn College students experiencing food insecurity. It has six satellite “mini cupboards” strategically located on main campus, at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center and at the Lumley Aviation Center.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s “Accelerated Learning” is at it again, and this time, the Diesel Performance Club’s 12,000-pound 1959 B-61 Mack truck advanced to the seventh-round finals of the Maple Grove Dragway’s 2025 Keystone Truckin’ Nationals. Narrowly missing the top prize by a margin of only .079 seconds, the crew has now celebrated two back-to-back years of success for a project 25 years in the making.
A black-tie gala with industry leaders and a tour of a popular toolmaker’s headquarters were among highlights for students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Construction Management Association when they were invited guests at a series of activities hosted by Associated Builders and Contractors in the Washington, D.C., area.
Paint flew and smiles grew during the annual Penn College Paint Party on the Professional Development Center lawn. Held in October instead of its original date, thanks to early-semester rain, the event combines music, neon paint and water blasters and was every bit as fun – and messy – as usual.

The golf team continued its excellence in United East Fall Preview play, while the men’s soccer, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams all tasted victory, and the last of the CATS Award winners were announced.
