Around 130 dual enrollment students visited campus on Thursday to get a taste of the hands-on labs where their Pennsylvania College of Technology student counterparts take coursework. Penn College Dual Enrollment offers college classes to high school students. The classes are taught at their own schools by their own teachers during the regular school day, earning participants free college credits for the courses.

Every now and then, we all need someone in our corner to remind us of our value. When Lizeth V. Reyes-Becerra has those moments, her thoughts turn to those who have tangibly shown their confidence in her tomorrow-making abilities. Reyes-Becerra, of Erie, earned an associate degree in May 2022 in building construction technology and is pursuing a bachelor's in residential construction technology & management.

The Engineering & Industrial Design Department recently held its annual SolidWorks Pumpkin Carving Contest, a fall favorite in which first-year students "carve" virtual jack-o'-lanterns with computer software and unbridled imagination. Three winners were selected in each of two sections of Technical Drawing I taught by Katherine A. Walker and Craig A. Miller, assistant professors of engineering design technology.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s dental hygiene program provided free oral care to 22 children and teens during a Sealant Saturday event on Nov. 4. “The future of our community’s oral health looks brighter, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our students and volunteers offering free dental services to children in need,” said Tiana L. Minnick, instructor of dental hygiene, who spearheaded the event. “It was a rewarding experience for everyone involved.”

The Community Arts Center received a $5,000 donation from Woodlands Bank as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The funding will go to support the Educational Series performances offered to students in the area. Annually since 2007, the Community Arts Center has been able to provide thousands of students access to exceptional arts programming that enhances the classroom curriculum of nine school districts across a multicounty geographic reach in Northcentral Pennsylvania.
