Five collision repair technology graduates from 2012 offered career insights to today’s students during a recent visit to the Collision Repair Operations class taught by Eric. D. Pruden, instructor of automotive technology.

John Brungard, Derek Finkenbinder, Patrick McTague, Jacob Wood and Chad Zepp shared their career paths with the students.

“They have followed varied and interesting paths in the industry. Their current jobs are all different, but they all mentioned that their Penn College education provided a good foundation to build on,” Pruden said.

Brungard is an estimator for Fairfield Ford Collision Center in Montoursville. Finkenbinder is the owner/painter at Subway Auto Body Collision Center in Carlisle. McTague serves as a collision technician for Park Avenue BMW in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. Wood is a technical representative for Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes in Columbus, Ohio. And Zepp is the body shop manager/estimator at Resuwreckion Auto Body in Spring Grove.

“The students were able to ask questions about their work experiences since leaving Penn College and how they knew they were in the right job with the best fit for them. The students also asked technical questions, questions about additional training and some of the bad things that happen in every working environment,” Pruden added. “It was a great session, and it went well past the allotted time for the class.”
