The ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday featured the schools of Business, Arts & Sciences and Nursing & Health Sciences; programs in the School of Engineering Technologies comprised Saturday's proceedings, which split the school's five divisions between the 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. ceremonies. Student speakers were Ninoshka Marie Rivera Matos, who received an Associate of Applied Science in dental hygiene on Friday; Sophia G. Wiest, who received an Associate of Applied Science in landscape/plant production technology on Saturday morning; and Michael J. Sormilic, who earned a Bachelor of Science in building automation engineering technology and an Associate of Applied Science in electric power generation technology: diesel emphasis. The college also honored Sean Stabler, who holds two plastics degrees, with a Distinguished Alumni Award.

In her address, Saturday morning's speaker shares life’s highs and lows with humor – and the notion that changing one's mind isn't a mark of failure. "By switching majors, it opened so many new doors for me," Wiest said. "People will underestimate you and you might not always take a direct path, but that's OK. You never know what's to come and you never know what will be on the other side waiting for you."
