MTC expansion topic for Engineers Week roundtable
Hosted by the college's Civil Engineering and Surveying Department and the School of Construction & Design Technologies, the event will connect the campus community to the civil engineers, surveyors, architects, construction managers, contractors and others whose expertise is vital to the ongoing project.
Panelists will be Todd Colocino, CMT Laboratories Inc.; Benedict Dubbs, Murray Associates Architects; Jeremy Heimbach, Myco Mechanical; Chad Maholtz, Leonard S. Fiore Inc.; John Murphy, Greenman-Pedersen Inc.; Dan A. Vassallo, Vassallo Engineering and Surveying Inc.; and Rich Zerby, TurnKey Electric Inc.
The project, due to be completed for the fall semester, will increase the size of welding-related instructional space by approximately 35,000 square feet and allow for increased enrollment in a traditionally popular program.
Tuesday's program is just one of the activities planned for National Engineers Week.
The student chapters of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors and the American Society of Civil Engineers will hold events throughout the week, and David J. Fedor and Nicholas A. Puza, instructors of civil engineering technology, will make another of their engaging outreach visits on Wednesday – this time to Central Mountain High School in the Keystone Central School District.
