Microsoft Office Courses Scheduled at Penn College

For those looking to sharpen their computer skills while learning something new, Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering several easy-to-comprehend computer courses.

The Microsoft Office courses are taught by qualified instructors at a comfortable pace for all levels of adult learners. The small, noncredit classes are held in a relaxed classroom environment, allowing participants to learn, experiment and ask questions. Courses are hands-on, with each participant working at a computer station.



This spring’s Microsoft courses include:

Excel Level 1 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 21)
Gain the skills necessary to create basic worksheets, perform calculations, modify and format worksheets, and manage and print workbooks.

Excel Level 2 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 10)
Designed for those desiring to gain advanced skill sets necessary for calculating data using functions and formulas, sorting and filtering data, visualizing data using charts, using PivotTables and PivotCharts for analyzing data, and customizing workbooks.

Excel Level 3 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 2)
Delve into some of the more specialized and advanced capabilities of Excel. Topics include working with multiple workbooks, lookup functions, sharing and protecting workbooks, and automating workbook functionality.

Excel: PivotTables (9 a.m. to noon, April 19)
This course is designed for experienced Excel users who are seeking to advance their data-analysis capabilities by using PivotTables. Topics include building PivotTables and PivotCharts in order to categorize, analyze and restructure spreadsheet data.
(Prerequisite: understanding of spreadsheet concepts and spreadsheet creation)

Excel: Advanced Data Analysis With Power Pivot (9 a.m. to noon, April 30)
This course is designed for experienced Excel users who are seeking to advance their data-analysis capabilities by using Power Pivot. Excel provides Power Pivot to help you analyze, manipulate, and create reports on large amounts of data quickly.
(Prerequisite: understanding of PivotTables)
