Discover your creative side and learn from an industry professional how to take stunning digital photographs when Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology offers a three-week digital photography course in September.

The class, taught by Wayne Palmer, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays from Sept. 8-22 in the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The cost is $199.

Class topics are understanding the camera's features and using them in hands-on practice, then editing photographs to produce extraordinary images. The "aperture/shutter speed/ISO relationship" will be demystified, as well as the camera’s program modes and other features. Photo improvements such as cropping, resizing, and color and tonal corrections will be covered.

The course is a very personalized class with one-on-one interaction with and assistance from the instructor. An advanced digital camera, SLR-style, that allows control over exposure, access to an owner's manual and an understanding of computer file management are required of students.
