EMS WorldTim Case, a 2005 graduate of Penn College’s paramedic technology major, appears on the September cover of EMS World magazine. Case is a paramedic supervisor for American Medical Response NW in Portland, Ore., and was one of many playing a role in the rescue of sudden cardiac arrest survivor Wes Rogers, who is in the foreground of the photo with the team that worked jointly to save his life in June 2009. Rogers lost consciousness in his office, and the entire event, from the time he lost consciousness to the moment he was wheeled from the room by rescuers, happened in full view of a security camera. The rescue – and its illustration of the system of actions and people that play a part in saving lives – has become a teaching aid, watched by millions in the field. (Case is also showcased in a college Alumni Career Feature.)
